The Ala Kai bed & breakfast is owned and hosted by Mary Roblee.
Mary, a retired executive manager, is a world traveler who has lived in Thailand and was a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal. She enjoys hiking, writing, reading, movies, cooking, snorkeling and going to the beach. After moving to Hawaii in 2001, Mary decided that the Big Island’s windward coast is where she wants to live. Mary is a published author under the pen name of Kate Lindman.
Pat Fay, the Ala Kai bed and breakfast co-founder, passed away in March of 2016. She is greatly missed by Mary, family, friends and previous guests.
The two Ala Kai cats are Asher and Shakespeare.
